These seem to be hit and miss with dogs, some love them and some cannot be bothered with them. My two absolutely love them and spend hours chewing. The difference in Kali's breath and teeth is very noticeable! :077: I bought two medium and two large but for future orders they will all be large I think. When they get down to about 3 inches I take them and put them in the bin but that is weeks of chewing before that happens. If you are not brave enough to give chicken wings but want to get something for your dogs teefies then these are for you! :044:

What size do you buy x

Large. Sometimes they are just one large stick shape and sometimes they are pronged...... the way we think of antlers. I did buy medium but they didn't last long enough. Medium would be ok for a dog smaller than a cocker I guess xxx

Just ordered some, are they real stag antlers, they wont be gross will they? xx

Yes they are real antlers and no, they are not gross at all. They say that they don't smell (and they don't) and they don't stain (and they don't) but the problem I found with Kali was that it made her gums bleed......which was good (it means they are doing their job) but not all over my best rug...... :065:
If you mean the feel of them, they just feel like hard plastic. They do go soggy like hide chews but only at the very tips where the dogs chew, the rest stays solid. It took the girls a couple of days to get used to them and they kept leaving them and then going back to them but when they do chew it is usually a marathon session lasting up to an hour!

DO you take them away from the dogs when they are on their own??

Oooh never seen those before MM, they sound like a great idea! I wonder if I should try them with my pair though as I used to give my pair raw hides / stuffed kongs and such-like but they got very protective over them and instead of having a leisurely chew when they fancied it - it became a chewing marathon/competition and they wouldn't stop until they'd finished the lot just incase the other one nicked their "prize"! I s'pose I could put them in separate rooms to have a chew...hmmmm will give it some thought. Mind if I get any they'd have to be the exra large ones for my big mutts!

They clean the dog’s teeth, rather than bung them up like some dog chews and they’re great for dogs with sensitive tummies
Sounds like they will be ok pet xxxx

No.......they have no chance of swallowing the antler shaped ones.....more chance of poking themselves in the eye. Because for all their chewing, only the very tips get soggy, they cannot choke on pieces of it either. I do take it off them when it becomes swallowable size though.........which takes ages so well worth the money x

Monty had one of these and absolutely loved it. He wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but once he got the idea that it was for chewing there was no stopping him! Like MM when it became too small I reluctantly threw it away, must remember to order another one, definitely a hit in this house.

stag bar - is that the thing on my living room floor that I stand on sometimes and that Rodaidh and Jarv look at as if it's the plague? :045::058:

Lol....could be. I said at the start that dogs seemed to either love them or hate them , I was lucky it was a hit with my two. They go mental when they see them........which is a good job considering the price!

I would love to get Nero one of these but he gets really possessive over anything that lasts a while like bones. I have learnt not to buy them its not worth the temper tantrums. Shame really
