View Full Version : Increase Value?

We have a patio bit at the back of the house which is not small but not too big either. It is a bit of a mess because whoever laid it never put hardcore down, so it is all dips and bumps and where the steps are by the patio doors and back door there are gaps where the patio has sunk.
Our dilemma is, do we spend money getting it done before we sell or not? I know it probably won't add value to the house but the back garden is nice and peaceful and I thought if people came to view and the big set of garden furniture is out (and the patio even and clean) it might be a great selling point.
Thoughts anybody?

Do you look at patios when looking round a house as in are they even or not ??? I don't think so and your patio isn't that bad if my memory serves me right
I would have the patio furniture out and a few pot plants covering the worst bit rather than spent the money

I suppose we could do that but they have dropped a lot since we moved in and the gaps under the two sets of steps are bound to be picked up by the surveyor.

Can you not just lift the dropped ones and put some sand / gravel under to raise them a wee bit - another words a bodge job, but enough for it to look better without doing the whole lot

No, nearly every one is uneven. The gardener said that they all need taking up and redoing which is what we thought. Must admit, I would like it to look nice...

Well if you get it done in the spring then at least you would have just over a year of using it before you move

MM lift them and put sand underneath, wouldn't spend mega money on it if your going to sell, people have there own idea's on what they want to do with gardens.
