What is going on with my pooches these days.
Right it is Sally again and we are hoping for some positive thoughs as she has a VETS appointment for tomorrow....Last night Dave came to me and told me he had found a lump on Sallys shoulder...kinda where her collarbone would be if she were human. It is soft and is not a spot as it is under the skin. This morning it seemed bigger so I have phoned the VETS and they can fit her in tommorow only it will be Dave that takes her as I am working.
Problem being my brain has jumped straight into panic mode when I am well aware it may be nothing at all....Argh I feel sick.
12PM tomorrow all thoughts on Sally please.

Could it be a fatty cyst? I know Chloe used to get loads of these. I know there is not much point saying this but try not to worry too much. Fingers crossed that it is nothing to worry about xxxx

Do you remember me posting about robbie having exactly the same a few weeks ago - it was a gap between skin and flesh that his wee body didnt like so he filled it with fluid - they drained it and that was that!
The gap usually is caused by them injuring themselves so has she maybe run into a stick or something? I couldnt see the injury on Robbie - but knew that the wolf of a dog next door had grabbed him by the chest a few days before.
Might not be the same - but i was like you - i nearly had him dead and buried dog forbid!
Healing positive thoughts from here for sals! (and you)

Fluid is also another possible solution I'd be happy with but yes the bit in red was me in bed last night gripping hard onto my little girl

Yes, I would have thought soft and squishy was better. Can you move it...as in it isn't attached to anything?

I does seem to move around when its pressed so I don't think it is attached but I could be wrong

Oh Theresa, here's hoping it is just something like Robbie had, or maybe she's just had a reaction to a tick bite? Fargo had a swollen lump from a tick once.
Big hugs for her and you guys, and I'll totally understand if you don't feel like meeting on sunday :075: :075:

Oh we'll still be there...damn dog is bouncing around like new and pretending nothing is up so she'll still expect a walk
Poor Dave bless him is such a softy...I think he would have had her blue lighted to the VETS when he found it he got himself that worried. This is from the man that has not set foot in a doctors the entire time I have known him but whatever you do don't mess with his poochies :001::001:

hugs to you Theresa
any lumps should eb checked otu anyway..for peace of mind..most are some sort of a cyst..
if hard, and attached i'd be more worried...but if its under the skin, soft, and moveable..the chances are its a fatty lump of some kind..or if they have had an injection it could eb a reaction to this..the couple of layers of skin...can fill with fluid..
some of my dgs have had these and had them removed..some go down on their own accord..but can take a while..
i know its hard..but try not too worry...
and good luck at the vets hope they can put your mind at rest..and praying for you its just something and nothing sweetheart...

Hi sorry folks for not updating sooner....Well Vets were useless in my opinion. Apparently she agreed that it was strange and 'deep rooted' however had no suggestions what it could be so we are to keep an eye on her and it and take her back whenever we like if it doesn't go away.....Now I don't mind them not knowing what it is but it scares me a little just to leave it and wait and see...what if it gets worse? what if it hurts her? (Though to be honest it don't seem to)...I know I know it is probably nothing but I'd like to know that for sure.
Checked her this morning and in my opinion it feels different...harder...Dave says no but I am sure it is harder than it was.
Oh and £22 to tell us to sit and wait seems a bit of a cheek...she didn't DO anything and in Daves words 'Felt it and then hadn't a clue'

oh Theresa..that is bad...can't you get a second opinion...

tori sandras dog has a lump just like you describe. the vet stuck a needle in and aspiarated stuff stuck it on a slide and had a look. it was fat so sandras just leaving it alone unless it gets too big and causes discomfort. so maybe its that. I cant believe your vet didnt stick a needle in. it just takes seconds.
pepper once had a foreign object under her ribcage,. the lump was soft initially then hardened up, got bigger and bigger then was lanced to drain it then she had to have it properly excised as it wouldnt heal properly. we never found out what the foreign object was but it was the vet thought probably a spike injury maybe caused by crashing through forrestry at high speed and maybe stabbing herself on a stick.
fingers crossed for sally. xx

Second opinion needed, I think an aspiration as Terri says, would be the next move

Ditto. I would ask them to do an aspiration then you know what it is and can either ignore or have it treated.

The only thing hurting Sally today was Theresa standing on her foot when showing me the lump ^^ :045:

Dave wants to wait and see so I'll give it a couple of days but if it still not going away by Wednesday then I am going back

Oooops sorry...well it seems to have gone. We are still concerned about her as now she appears to be a bit stiff but we are not sure how that could be related and think she is just turning into an old lady bless her. :)
