hi, my name's Manda and I live near the Hampshire/Dorset border with my husband, two children, 4 rabbits, 2 chickens and an obese 11yr tabby cat. We used to have a beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but he passed away suddenly at home at the end of March at the age of 10. Though we miss him terribly, we know it's important to move on, so, this coming Thursday, we're picking up a new puppy!! A cocker/terrier cross.

Penny (Penelope) invited me, so she's the one to blame for me being here!

I look forward to reading and posting and getting to know the folks here.

Here's what Alfie looked like last Saturday when we went to visit him!

He's the result of a "whoopsie" between two working dogs, a Nancarrow working cocker and a jrt/patterdale. There were only two surviving pups, and both are going to pet homes. And, no offence to any here who have any "designer crosses", but the gamekeeper only asked a small amount of money, not the mega bucks that some people charge!! (which we were very glad about, on a number of levels!)

We can't wait to have him home!!

Actually, I was rather hoping there'd be MORE than one or two nutters here, if I am to feel REALLY at home!! :044::046::012:
