Ruiadh is poorly

Had a call from Queen Bee tonight as Ruiadh is very poorly.

She was rushed to the emergency vet last night as her tummy was all swollen and she really wasn't well at all. The emergency vet ran some tests, kidney and toxicology, but everything came back clear, so she was transferred to her normal vet this morning and they had to take her in for surgery and open her up. When they opened her up her stomach was full of undigested James Wellbeloved dry kibble. So they removed it all and cleaned her all up, but she has loads of stitches, inside and out. QB thinks that she managed to get into a bag of food at her mum's house just munched away at it.

The vet has taken her home with him for the night as her pain is too much for QB to control. So fingers crossed if she pees and eats tomorrow, she will be able to get home to her mummy tomorrow.

Oh poor poor lamb. That must have been so painful for her. Poor QB too, she must have been frantic. Lots of healing thoughts and prayers for them both and hopefully the wee munchkin will feel better tomorrow and can get back home with her Mummy where she belongs. Came on to start this thread as had long chat with QB last night, glad you were more on the ball than me Jen!
Gill won't know more til later today and might still be a while til Roo gets home as vet is having to give painkillers round the clock.

Update from QB:

Roo had a comfortable night and she managed to do a wee wee and the vet has given her a tiny bit of soft food. He's keeping her in for the rest of the day to monitor her and she might get home later on tonight, but he's not promising anything. But she is ok!!

My baby is gonna be ok. She has had a horrendous time of it and was in agony but my amazing vet saved her life! I love you Alistair!

I might get her home tonight, poor Skye is all a bundle of confusion.

Just a wee update for you all:

Roo is still very tired and very quiet. She needs a teaspoon of food every hour round the clock.

Gill is shattered, which is understandable.

Hi Guys!

You should see the nick of me - I look AWFUL!!!! But I don't care!

Miss Roo Roo Belle is making good progress. She is loving her wee tea spoons of food and is peeing and pooing like a good 'un!

She is sleeping loads and can't bark (coz it's too sore on her tummy) so she makes a noise like a seal pup!

Skye is being a very (overly!!!!) attentive big sister and has taken to sitting beside her in bed and licking her eye balls.

We go back to the vet at 5:10pm tonight for her dressing to get changed and a wee check over. I'll keep you posted.

just catching up with some threads as have been away on courses and am whacked so havent been on th computer as much.. poor roo.. glad things are looking up.Ive bought 2 larde dustbins that lock shut as cora was eating the bird food and dog food, brat.
