Just made soup using the bones of a chicken...For me this is a good move as usually we have two meals out of the chicken then bung the rest out but this time I got 2 meals...Have made soup with the bones and then stripped all the rest of the bits we don't eat and have used them in the dogs dinner tonight and some left for tomorrow.....I am getting all domesticated...check me out :044:

Erm soup soup.

Heck I don;t even know what kind I have made....sheesh there goes my halo.

I boiled the chicken and then stripped some breast meat off it....and set aside. I chucked in 5 carrots, 2 parsnips, a swede, 2 onions and a leek and boiled it all up. Whizzed it (I don't like lumpy veg soup) Threw in the chicken meat and a couple of cups of rice and cooked it all up...So chicken veg and rice at a guess....Oh and a couple of stock cubes and salt and pepper :)

Hope you made some homemade bread to go with it - if not then better put that on your list for next time - ooo warm bread with lashings of butter and homemade soup (ok forget the lashings of butter as the diet MUST be obeyed)

Leave some for tomorrow.....it is always better the 2nd day. I make stewp from my chicken bones...................and I have been making stewp longer than 'other' places!!
