is she spayed..
if so..then no chance it could be a season...

one of my cockers... a boy..never been a stud..had cysitis..but yelped when weeing..and wee'd pure blood..
a course of anti b's sorted that out..but then went on to have a re occuring urine / passing blood..
several tests later..
cultering urine..no infection ever present..they could grow nothing/ prostate was checked..all clear..
then they grew crystals..
barnbay gets stutivite crystals..and since being on a special prescrition food for the last two years ( which he has to stay on for life)..hes on hills percription c/d food for strutive crystals..and sometimes he has to go on too s/d food for stones..since then he has never wee'd blood..
but does have to stay for the rest of his life on the perscription food..which is higher in salt to stop the cystals forming..which is uncommon in a male..and more prone in females..
his ph levels were quite high too but no infection was ever found..

so if in doubt maybe a trip to the vets..sorry i can't help any more that that..
as it could be a number of things..
when they wee blood..normally either infection/crystals or possibly stones..
if not weeing as i was told this with barnbay and everytime he wee's i check his flow ....if he is having trouble..weeing..that he could have a stone stuck in the urithera...and this would be classed as a medical/ life threatening condition which needs emergency vets treament...

i hope all will be well with your dog

but do have experince of this with my blue roan cocker barnaby...

Thanks Terri :078:

She'll be 4 years old in Feb and she was spayed 3 months after her first season at approx 13 months old

She isn't drinking more than normal or weeing more than normal - I haven't seen her wee today, but since spying the red in the snow have been keeping a close eye on them both

Rhum is wee ing as much as normal and is making the normal yellow snow, so I am sure it's not him

Just hope she goes for a wee soon before it gets too dark for me to see

It doesn't help that the snow and ice is on the ground and is so slippy out there to run around and watch her

we will be off to the vet tomorrow

Cut paw? the ice might be getting to them?

weird if it was a cut paw - as when i dug down in the snow there seemed to be a fair bit as tho it was wee and it is only in 3 parts of the back garden and not too close to each other ???

I have checked them both over tho and can't seem to find any cuts

prob a cut tongue on the ice/snow, Fred did something similar the other day out on our walk and I thought he was dying, dont forget as well that rabbit poo/wee can also stain the snow red and it quite disturbing if you not expecting it

Thanks Jean - we have seen two rabbits out in the front part of the garden and both dogs are really interested in the pampas grass in the back garden so am wondering if there is one huddled up in there trying to keep warm ??

this long cold snap and snow frost is when the weaker rabbits die off so you might get one above ground just too weak to make a run for it so they hide somewhere like in the pampass and try and wait it out. we had one under our shed one year who didnt make it and was found frozen by the dogs.. yeuk!
