She's had D&V since xmas day and has not eaten since then. The vomiting has pretty much stopped because she has nothing to bring up - poor baby - but her poos are still liquid and she is very subdued. I have managed to pursuade her to drink and as well as some water, she has had a little milk.

She doesn't even want to go out for walks, when Elsie and the kids were just getting ready to go out, Mali just laid on the sofa, watching :062:

I don't like it when she's poorly. :o(

Bless her heart. Hope she feels better soon. What about some scrambled egg to bind her up a bit???
Sorry this is bold, don't know what I have done!.

poor mali..
hope you feel better soon..

did you give any food other than dog food..as sometimes our food can be quite rich for them..more so over xmas..
also for ill dogs or any dog..milk should never be given..more so if its cows milks as they cannot break down the lactose ...and could make things worse..goats milk is ok in puppies..
water only..again more so if they are ill...

do you have any lectade small animal sachets..an oral sugar/ salt hydration for dogs in case of upset tummies to prevent dehydration....i always keep this in..also have you and pro kolin.again i keep this in stock..you can buy online..
does help with sickness and diawotsits..
with both the above..starve for 24 hours..and as much water fluid intake..
and then a very bland, rice, chicken or fish diet for a couple of days..then slowly introduce ordinary food back...

hope this helps...
its not a lecture..
and really hope mali feels better soon...
big hugs speeding mali's way..

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Terri, yes I'm afraid that I have to admit to giving both dogs some turkey trimmings on christmas day but nothing else like gravy or pudding, chocolates etc. I wish I had some of the stuff you have suggested, I'll be sure to get some in though so that I'm not caught without again over a holiday period.

I will try the scrambled egg thing tomorrow, she really isn't interested enough today.

Thanks again everyone.

I always give my girls milk, with honey in it to break it down but that is just a RNF thing to do. It is not something I would do when they were ill though. I know that sprite or seven up (flat) can replace electrolytes lost in D&V for humans but don't know if it works with doggies.

I got my Mali back :059:

She's much better today and has come back to be with us rather than suffering alone on the conservertory sofa.

I should have posted about her being poorly earlier, it must be all your positive thoughts that did the trick :047:

Thank you x
