Molly burst her chest/tummy open in 3 places yesterday (nothing too serious) and needed them glued together.
Not even 24 hours later and 2 of them have burst open.
She is booked in at vet for 9am and likely to have to be put under anaesthetic to be stitched.
Stressing about her being put under, I've never had a dog that needed it done (she was spayed when she came to me).
Keep your fingers and paws crossed please.

Fred is an old pro at the anesthetic (is as accident prone as Molly) but I know just how worried you must be. I will be thinking of you both in the morning xxx

Thanks everyone. Will let you know how we get on :) Off to bed early tonight as not sure how much sleep I will get with a dog with a buster collar on in bed!

Might be worth investing in one of the inflatable collars for molly- not as uncomfortable as the buster collars more like an elizabethian ruff that stops her from getting her head round to aggrivate any wounds but isnt as restrictive as the buster collar- I borrowed one last time Fred has stitches and he was great with it on and I had far fewer bruises!!!

Thanks guys. Kept getting bashed in the face with a buster collar last night - think I will go to PAH this morning and get one of the one's Lisa is talking about.
Took her to vets at 9 and Jim the vet said defo needs stitched. Had to leave her there. They have surgery then a spay and then Molly so I've to phone at 1230 :(
Going to clean clean clean to keep me occupied. Shame it's so wet or I could have cut grass too.
Will let you know how we get on.

Molly is dosing after her wee op. Has ended up being stitched in one wound and stapled in another. I've to pick her up at 2pm. Does anyone think this will teach her a lesson????....................no neither do I!
Just glad she is ok. God they make you worry.

Oh no poor Molly :| Hope she's ok for PGDW....she's got a few days for the healing to get going I guess....when Fargo has had staples after arguments with barbed wire, it's normally holding together after a couple of days....

Hope she's ok when you get her home...trying to keep them quiet is another matter though ^^

Oh god I never even thought about PGW with all the worry. Will need to ask Jim if she can go. I'll be so upset if she can't :( Will come anyway and bring Florrie if I have to!

Glad she is ok- as for the air collar have you got a local 'country store' type shop or any independent pet shops locally??

Glad she is ok, give her a big cuddle from me.:077:

I'm sure she'll be fine for the weekend, but maybe won't be joining in too much. Who else is going?

HRM Molly has just scoffed some garlicky chicken and is now snoozing on my knee again. Have taken her buster collar off while I can watch her but will have to go on again tonight (so I'm prepared for another few black eye attempts!)

She is great although not at all amused at the buster collar which is on at night and when I go out but so far she has been good at not annoying her wounds.
We are back to vet tomorrow morning for check up and will get more of an idea then of recovery time and when she will be allowed walks on lead (took her a wee one last night) and when she can get off lead. I am just hoping that Jim will not say no to me taking her on PGW if I promise to keep her on lead.
I also said to Carol that Molly may not like standing about in heavy rain and I feel that I would have no choice but to retire to the house and TV with a cup of coffee if it was too much for her :D ;)
