Watched the UK premier of this last night on FX......and it was great :044: Now that Dexter has finished on this channel, this looks like it will fill the weekly slot just nicely and provide some good, dark, and occasionally gruesome, drama :038: It stars Anna Paquin....the now not so little girl who won an oscar in 'The Piano'

bum too late to edit original post......
Meant to sat it's all about modern Vampires who can now 'walk amongst us' after synthetic blood has been created, removing their dependence on human blood http://www.instantsmileys.com/smileys/vampire-smiley-16.gif (http://www.instantsmileys.com)

Tanya- it is based on the novels by Charlaine Harris which are a bit 'teen' but def good for a bit of escapist reading.

Aaarrgghh am getting v v disappointed with this series- it has none of the humour of the books and Jason Stackhouse is such a prick you can feel no sympathy for him . Think I would have preferred it if I hadnt read the books of this as somethings are spot on but just enough of them arent to make the programme feel 'off iyswim.
Are you still watching/enjoying Tanya??

Thread resurrection!
I have season 1 of this, and saw the first two episodes last night. It looks pretty cool so far. It's an odd angle to come from, but I like how they have done it. May just have to watch the rest of them now.

I will have to look out for this now. I have read all the charlaine harris books on the sookie stackhouse series and had no idea it had been made into a tv thing. Will be interesting to see how I find it, though I do tend to enjoy reading rather than watching vamp stuff.

They are shooting the 3rd series now I believe, and the actor that plays Bill Compton is now engaged to Anna Paquin in real life.....aw :078:

I'm half way through season 2 just now - its silly, but still fun.
However, I am starting to find the lead womans voice and character really bloody annoying. Plus, she kindof acts to extremes - really angry one minute, really pleasant the next.... oh that's right. She IS a woman.
Lol..... FLAME MEEEEEEEE!

Yeah, but seriously - she's more whiney in the second series... and more irritating.
