I did update my post concerning this but nobody has looked at it....So i thought it might be better to do a new one for you all to ignore :05:
Well i have just had a phone call from the DWP (you need to read HUGE Dilema if you aren't up to date on how this came about it was an old discharged CSA claim) and as they sent Maxines dad a letter on 21st Sept and he has not responded to it they have this morning applied for an attachment of earnings.
The amount they will be deducting is over £400 per month.....and i should start to receive it from 19th November.
Bloody hell I didn't expect that...however he can still just jack in his job and go missing but I thought that all the stuff they had told me would yet again come to nothing.
So to all the people who contacted me about this for themselves or friends please be assured that they are doing what they are threatening...so any skinflint fathers had better take notice this time. As it would appear that the DWP do not take any prisioners and will exert the full force of there powers to recover the debts owed in maintenance..
I don't really feel like celebrating as I just keep thinking of all the stuff his other children will miss out on now, but our child will now be able to save for a car, horse etc...

Hey that is great news alpha :D . How old is your daughter? The reason I ask is that my friend brought up her two boys totally on her own after their dad walked out when the boys were 3 and eighteen months. He only ever made one payment for their entire childhood. Everytime the csa caught up with him he jacked in his job. She worked all the time too, she had to as he also left her in debt. They are now in their twenties though. Do you think the csa would still be interested in balancing their books, or do you think they are only interested if the wronged parent was claiming benefits?

Max is 21 and when she left college at 19 the CSA sent me a rather nice letter saying they could no longer help and they had closed my claim. And yes I think a lot of it is to do with making sure that people are being paid by the ex rather than the state, but I have never been on any benefits i have always had relatively well paid jobs.
Now because they want to start a new agency next year they have got to track down all the NP's....all these cases have been given to DWP and they are contacting the claimants to see if they want to proceed with it. It is using very harsh measure such as attachments to earnings, bailiffs, forced house sales removel of driving licenses and passports and even imprisonment. The problem the CSA had with her dad is he kept not responding to letters so they never really tracked him dow, theuy now trace them through the IR and Tax Credits so they can't hide anywhere really and are easier to trace.
They also have to do it quickly I think they contacted me at the beginning of September.
So if your friends was through the CSA she should be getting a call from them in the not too distant future.
I hope she is successful.

All this was making me think. When I left that idiot of a husband the kids were only small. He paid me £15 a fortnight (I think). Whats that? £3.75 a week per child? He was working offshore too with a good salary. It is a disgrace really that men are allowed to do that sort of thing. I mean, how are you supposed to keep a child on £3.75?

Thanks alpha. I shall pass this info on to her as she has moved recently, so if they write she probably won't get it. Do you have a telephone number or address for them you could PM to me? I think someone else asked this but have forgotten the answer  .
