View Full Version : Mali is still poorly

I'm taking her to the vet again in a bit. I rang them at lunch time to tell them that she is lethargic, disinterested in anything (even cooked chicken!) and she not drinking. He said he wanted to have her back at the surgery so we have an appointment at 4-15. She has perked up in the past half hour, she's had a drink and 3 or 4 pieces of her AG food.

She refused to come to bed with me again last night and had a runny poo on her evening walk. I don't know what to think. Normally she runs around the garden chasing any birds who have the audacity to fly over her turf but today she's just been sitting in the garden, barely glancing at the birds as they cross.

sorry it's taken so long to reply, it's been a bit mad here. I took her down and the vet decided to do some blood tests. He said that her mucus glands were parched and she seemed very dehydrated. We had the test results back within 30 mins and they were clear apart from the indicators for dehydration so they called us straight back to get Mali on a drip. She was kept in till 6-30 and when I went back, I told the receptionist/nurse that I had come for Mali and she said "She's ready and waiting for you". Then she inclined her head, I looked over the counter and there was Mali sitting in the swivel chair next to the nurse! She looked at me and leapt off the chair to run over to me. She keeps lifting up her leg to show me her pink bandage - bless.

Anyhow, the upshot is that I have my Mali back, she is chasing the birds and scrounging for titbits (which she aint getting!). She still has the gastric problem but by the time she has finished the drugs she should be ok.

Awww sorry, the pink bandage was ripped off as soon as she got home.

She is as hyper as ever now and has been challenging the neighbourhood cats on her bedtime walk.

Thanks for the good wishes :054:

£150 to get some water down her neck :076:
Maybe it's time to get the insurance sorted :008:

Next time she has the squits, do what I do with Kali and Lyla, get a syringe and squirt it down their necks! They both love the syringe, they think its a game :006::006:

chasing them big time! They know she's back on form, as do the neighbourhood cats LOL

She's still taking the anti inflamatories but now we've had the blood tests done I can rest easy. I was worried that she may have picked up rat or slug poison whilst she was away.
