Ear Hematoma's

Anyones dog had one of these ?? Woke up to Belle shaking her head this morning and this is what she has, i think its sweepie constantly biting her ears, just waiting on the vets to open, gosh im a bit concerned :017:

No its the ear swells up considerably filled with blood :074: If left the ear shrivel up to practically nothing :074: Cripes thats all I need today with having to go to my sisters dash 40th in Edinburgh :040:

When I worked at the vets, we saw quite a few of these. They look really yuck but are quite quickly and easily sorted. The dogs I saw were sedated then a little cut was made and drained (relief I should imagine!) and left to heal.

I took my wee Belle to the vets on Friday and it is indeed a hematoma :010: She goes in on Tuesday to have it drained as it cant be drained too early as you have to allow the blood to fill up :010:. Ive got to give her an injection tomorrow night of an anti inflam. Poor wee sausage is fine but its bothering her :078:

Spoke to my Gran last night and her Lab had to have this done and wasnt bothered by it at all.

Thanks Cazza :075: Her ear looks like its about to burst :074: I did however give her a non pain injection on Sunday which I was very proud of :052: Christ those needles are sharp :074:

My only concern is that Will is having to take her and she will not be happy at all, I may have to juggle things :074:

Ive got her back. I was kind of annoyed at the vet, they said that she was still a bit grotty as she didnt have it done till later on in the morning as they tried to do drain her ear with a needle without sedation and she didnt like it and was causing her some stress :073: no FKING wonder, they should know that she is ext sensitive and nervous of men :074: Thank god I wasnt there id have knocked him into next week :040: She is ok but now have the worry of it poss filling up again and that means an op :074:
