not wanting to put the girls in kennels tomorrow. I feel sick at the thought of it and it is only 24 hours. I know they have webcam but what if I look and they are miserable? I can see this Cyprus holiday being cancelled :062::062:

Have they gone now? I know exactly how you feel, we're going through the same thoughts as you about our holiday....a caravan is looking mighty tempting instead at the moment :076: I was lying in bed worrying last night and also thought that a web cam is great, but what if they look unsettled and we're stuck in the states not able to anything about it :|

I'm sure however they will be fine, and will be happy in their luxury surroundings with a sand pit and a stream to play in.....:)

Lots of hugs and they'll soon be back with you, probably more relaxed then you will be :054::075:

Although the way Frida has been behaving over the weekend I might ship her over there for good :045:

Well, they are in and I feel sick. I cried in front of her and then she cried because I was so distressed! She said I can go back and get them anytime, even today but I have to leave them, as much for them as me. They need to be used to not having us there sometimes. I keep looking for them, it is awful :062:

AM thinking of you Sheryl:075::075: but with the best of intentions I really must give you a (gentle) boot up the bum!! You are doing this to help the girls and yourself- you deserve a break and if the girls dont get used to kennels you will never get one. Keep telling yourself that you and Mr MM and going to have a fab holiday and remember next time you wont be in an (empty) home you will be away and everything will feel strange not just the fact that you havent got the girls with you..Try and keep yourself busy today as that will help and if poss get ut of the house as that cant be helping as they are ALWAYS there with you and of course you cant help thinking about them all the time when they are missing!!:075::075:

Cannot see them as in it is not working. Well it is for them and everyone else it would appear but I think I may have some sort of block on webcam stuff. They have checked and their neighbour and friend both got in. All I am getting is a black screen. WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

They are loose in the paddock now Carol says, chasing round like mad things and dive bombing Mark her son!

Yes Lisa, thanks for the gentle boot:077: I know they need to go away so we can go away. Just feels like having a limb cut off:076:

Sheryl, I know how you feel. I was terrible when Sam was getting picked up to go into kennels. I had to go out of the house and leave OH to do it. I was bawling my eyes out when I came back in and he was away.

OH took me out for dinner that night and I couldn't eat anything as my stomach was in knots.

You know it's for your benefit and theirs and I am sure they will have a great time, I know Sam did, he didn't want to come home!!

How are they (and you ;)) doing today Mrs MM - are they back home with you now?

I am fine because they are back home with me. Cannot praise Carol enough. Was looking at the camera this morning and she was sat on the floor of the kennel, playing tug with Lyla whilst Kali was jumping all over her head...lol. She was telling me though that Lyla (who I thought would be really bad) was great and settled in really fast. She also said that she is a womans dog (which she is) and that if there was one of them that was a little more unsettled, it was Kali and she is definitely a mans dog (which she is). She said that Kali barked a lot at first so what they tried to do was wait until she was quiet and then they would go in a give her big hugs. She said another day and Kali would most certainly have settled down even more. They loved romping around in the play paddock and that one of them was always let out of the room into the corridoor side so they could have a nosy at what she was doing.

Apparently they add ice to their water in summer and whilst we have had this snow and ice recently, they check the dogs pads every walk to make sure they have not been cut with the ice. They are just away to reseal the outside runs which they do every 6 months because they like to put the beds out there in the spring, summer months as it is nicer for the dogs and the outside runs are covered so they can still get out if it is raining.

I know I go on about them but you have no idea the lengths these people go to, to make your dog comfy. Neil was telling me that somone said they ought to call it a care centre but law says they have to use the word kennel! I know some people would consider it is expensive but to me £32 is a small price to pay for knowing they were safe, secure and loved...

Sounds like they really do care for the dogs that are in there and at £32, that's not bad, especially when you have access to a webcam!! I pay £10 a night for Sam, so for 2 dogs and all the luxury they have, I would certainly pay the £32!

Give them both a gentle squish from me. :075:
