Did you see the 'Jaffys' in the P&J yesterday, what numb skull thought it would be a good idea to cross a JRT and a Staffie......not seen that particular 'design' before - grrrr :058:

I know a few people who have Jaffys and they're gorgeous dogs . One in particular belongs to a good friend of mine .. Sasha is about 13 now and she's always been a very motherly type of bitch , she looks after everyone and she's got a lovely brindle coat . I quite like the mix to be honest . Great traits from both breeds makes for a lovely dog in my opinion . :012:

I'm sure Tanya will agree with me, tisn't the breeds that are a problem, tis the attaching a silly name and an equally silly price tag, being bred by dodgy breeders etc, which is the problem. You can get lots of lovely staffy/JRT crosses in rescue, so breeding them on purpose seems silly.

I totally agree with you too .. before this thread I'd never actually heard them called Jaffys . In my mind any cross bred dog is a mongrel (my opinion so am not up for an argument about it) . I was merely pointing out that the mix of the breeds makes for a fine pet .. I've owned both breeds individually so am passionate about them anyways . I always cringe when I see people trying to make cross bred dogs into designer brands and have no idea why and how people pay so much for them :071:... although maybe I could breed my 2 when Loki is old enough and call them 'Snacks' or 'Jauzers' !?! (schnauzer and JRT) I think not baby puppy ! :064:

We're all passionate about our breeds:078::054: FWIW i really like both breeds, but i don't think they're necessarily a novice owners best choice (nor are cockers for that matter!)

Oh and i think you owe us cute poopy pics ;) :072:

I think it is stupid to be honest. You run the risk of having a dog with 2 sets of genetic defects and predispostions to disease. Why would you do that?
