I decided at 3.30pm to take the dogs down the track instead of going in the car up the hill as it was getting dark (well NEVER again)
dogs had great time in the stubble field we were out for about 45 min

Got back Fern has cut her tum and so I cleaned it up but she was still panting 45 min later so decided vets
Braan was breathing funny and very restless throwing himself around and his breathing wasn't calming down - this is so un like him

They have both had an allergy jab - fern also had an antibiotic as temp is up and tum shaved, it's bigger than I thought and she's back in at 9am tomorrow to get a stitch in it (I feel real bad now )

Braan is calming down now but still not right - Fern is curled up in the bed but is still breathing quite fast (can tell by her body moving) and panting as tho she has just stopped running

No I didn't see them eat anything down there and even vet couldn't think of anything down there they could have eaten - alot of dog owners walk down there, but I hardly take them down

This is the last thing I need after last week

Braan is still not 100% but by morning I have no doubt he will be http://cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/Smileys/classic/dft010.gif

fern on the otherhand still is not fairing too well, at least she is sleeping, but still breathing is more rapid than usual http://cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/Smileys/classic/undecided.gif

I'm just sooo glad it was the top vet that was in (well he was on his way home but waited for me to get there) and it is him we will be seeing tomorrow

I'm going to phone the owner of the field tomorrow after I have been back to the vets with fern

I could see the dogs at al times and couldn't see anything and I'm 98% certain they didn't eat anything

Fern couldn't wait to get out the vets quick enough and OH had trouble holding her - I'm glad he was home today as he came with me to the vets

Morning

Braan is alot better but a bit more cuddley than normal
Fern's breathing has improved but still not back to normal, she's just lying in her bed
The dirty looks I am getting this morning is un real They both keep looking at the food cupboard as to say 'Where's our breakfast  '
It's times like this that I wish we weren't in such a routine for breakfast - Fern isn't allowed anything to eat as vet wants to make her groggy to do the stitch/s (vets 9am)

Vet thinks she cut her tummy on the stubble as it can be a bit sharp ???
Vet not sure but the only thing we could think is it could be a stubble allergy ???

Just read this Caroline :062: Poor babies. I don't know about doggies but I know pain can make humans breathe faster and their pulse rate increase. I agree with Carol, I doubt there is anything in the field. We used to walk Holly and Chloe in next doors all the time and they never sprayed it with anything, just tilled it. Poor lambs. Thats it, we are definitely visiting next week....or even this one. Whats that I hear you say? Aaaaarrrrgghh?:078:Gentle squishes to the pair of them from us lot.

How did the vets go today hun?

well we are back from the vets and I haven't looked at her tummy yet - well I don't think I would be welcome at the mo by the dirty looks I am getting off her

Got a sick child today so she has curled up with him and Braan has decided he is still not right and has pushed child over so he can curl up the other side

Braan is much better and now he's had some food and is quite happy having cuddles - he got a walk while vet stitched Fern (on lead I hasten to add, as I didn't have time to take him up the hill)
Fern is sleeping off the groggy state and feeling sorry for herself, but thankfully both their breathing is back to normal

I haven't had to phone the land owner as my vet did this last night and there has been no spraying down there so the only thing we can think of is they have an allergy to the stubble - so I will not be walking them down there again

Fern has 3 stitches :035:and is wearing a real fetching blue T shirt, which she is not enamoured with :045: and when I tell her to sit it's like i have a new dog :001: the backside hits the floor so fast you'd think she was trained :035: bet that doesn't last long

Braan is back to his super speed barking self when i drove back in half an hour ago (Thankfully the kids slept thro it) and promptly decided to do the wall of death :045: He's now gone to bed with OH
