Ricky Gervais at Edinburgh Castle

Went to see Ricky Gervais at Edinburgh Castle last night......I've spent better nights on the toliet :evil: I think he's fantastic as a comic actor, but he just isn't andy good at standup in my opinion. His set simply wan't funny at all.

I've seen his recorded standup - some of it is pretty funny. But his real genius comes out in combination with Steve Merchant (and Karl Pilkington). Download his podcasts - very funny recordings!

Actually,the funniest part of his act was when he was talking about Steven M and Karl P.

Really?! Wow, I tried to get tickets for this as I thought it would be fab... glad I didn't bother now!!

He got good reviews in the local press. However, judging by the amount of people who didn't wait for his encore, I suspect it wasn't just Colin and I who thought he wasn't up to much.
