Hi,
one 2 occasions in the last week when i have had to bath Lils I have noticed what look like fleas there are normally 3 or 4. However thats where the similarities end they are not very active and are easy to catch, have no blood in them when popped and don't seem to cause Lils any concern.
I do not have the first idea what these can be (unless they are fleas that are dieing straight away as we use advantage and I think she was done about 4 weeks ago)
Somebody please help as i feel like I should be walking around ringing a bell singing unclean!

she is done regularly with advantage so it does fleas and ticks.....i just can't work out what they are.
My cats have had fleas and they were horrible little buggers that you couldn't catch and when you popped them they had blood in and were quite hard to pop as well. These don't seem to share the same characteristics...oh no unlcean unclean
Had the house fumigated at the time( slight over reaction probably but the thought of them makes my skin crawl)

i wouls pass out if i ever popped a flea. think i would die if i had to pop a bloody tick. they are gross. alpha sounds like the flea treatment is working its wonders which is why you can easily catch them. i have to be soo careful about fleas coz one of my cats has a huge allergy to them. after every walk i have to nit comb ellie to make sure she hasn't picked any up. i try not to use anything to prevent fleas but if i get paranoid i use 4fleas. they are great and its just a tablet as and when you feel you need to use it. i only use them coz the cat with the allergy to fleas also has an allergy to frontline :09:

Sounds like harvest mites, it's the right time of year for them. They tend to be orangey red in colour and congregate between the toes. Here's quite a lot of info on them...

Isn't it weird that the moment you read about fleas that you can feel them on the surface of your skin while your mind allows that feeling to become stronger and more vivid, until before long you can really feel that tickle when it appears on different parts of your body.

Bloody hell Nickers you were right when you said "quite a lot" of info. And don't let the fact that we are infested influence your decision....you know I'll love you forever, buy you spirits, chocolates or even Wellies of your choice if you put in a good word for me.
Oh perhaps not the Wellies as not quite rich enough yet for your taste in shoes.
And yes Si I have spent loads of time trying not to have THAT thought but I will now have to be covered from head to toe in Calamine as i can't stop bloody scratching now.
