I took Mum to Boundary Mill when I was home last time. We had a look around and bought stuff (as you do) and finally made our way to the checkout. We got served by the most miserable git I have ever seen and that p*ssed me off to start with. Anyway, off we went for a meal and when we were walking back, here was the same guy, sat outside (lunchtime I guess), effing and blinding like there was no tomorrow. Now, I am no prude, as an ex army wife, I have heard it, used it and it doesn't phase me but my Mum is 82 ffs and she didn't need to hear it at all. So, would you complain? I am really heartily sick of people who deal with the public and let you know they hate it! As I was at work yesterday, cleaning a room belonging to a drug addict, scrubbing the toilet and stripping beds, all the time looking for needles it occured to me that if I can do this and still keep a smile on my face then surely some twonk on a till can do the same ;)

It is in Colne in Lancashire (and to think I drove all the way from Aberdeenshire to get that sh*t) I did ask for names when I was there so I may go ahead and whine!

as one who can eff and blind with the best of them i have to say that if i had my elderly mum with me and someone started swearing i would def complain. saying that i have to say that when i worked at tesc recently the staff would swear on the shop floor and the managers were as bad as the assistants. not my idea of running a shop (and i have managed an offie) if i were a manager there, loads of the staff would be sacked. there is absolutely no need for it

Sheryl, this has happened to me quite often recently, I just make a point of smiling at them, its funny seeing them trying to smile back :D and some people are just downright rude, you cant change them so let them just wallow in their own pitiful lives ;)
ps you dont have to edit your language on here :D go on say it you know you want to!

i would complain especially if he had his uniform on at the time. Luke used to go to a nursery at the time that has centres all over the UK, we had gone to Warrington and popped into a "Kiddy friendly" pub. We were in the beer garden and about 6 girls came in all wearing the uniform of Lukes nursery and were effing and jeffing like good uns. I don't object to poeple letting off steam and having a good time but Luke kept going over to them as he was familar witht he uniform ansd i just kept all my fingers crossed he wouldn't come out and repeat it..

A few years ago I wouldn't have although I wouldn't have liked it, but then a working trip to California really opened my eyes. From my experience the service industry there is exactly that -and even if they maybe did go off behind the scenes to have a good old whinge, they kept up a very professional front, whether in a supermarket, waiting in a restaurant - whatever. I suddenly realised that an awful lot of (but not all, some are great) people working in similar jobs over here have a huge chip on their shoulder about what they do for a living, as though it is beneath them. In the States I sensed that they had a pride in being efficient and professional and it was like a breath of fresh air. Those people wouldn't survive a week in a similar position in the US, they'd be straight out on their ear. I experienced the utter amazement of a Californian in England when we were in a hotel restaurant and he ordered a drink from the waitress and was told he had to go to the bar and pay for it separately, (he was spending a fortune in there too) and boy did he know how to complain  . I cringed at the time, but learnt a lesson or two from him and now I wouldn't hesitate.
He's not exactly a good advert for the place is he?

I would complain. Whilst that guy is on his lunch I assume that he was wearing the company/shop outfit with their logo possibily on it. Thus he has to act in such a way as to not bring shame to the company.
I swear like the worst of them but there is a time and a place. Sitting in a public place spouting off just comes across as someone with a screw loose. :02:

I complained to my local Tesco store cause a young lad stuck his two fingers up at me at a roundabout..........I always thought you indicated when leaving the roundabout............ Anyway he had a Tesco shirt on and as I had just come out of there I went right round the same roundabout and went into customer service to complain about this lad. He was walking in ever so cocky like and I went over infront of the security guard and asked for a word, he said he wasnt on duty and to go to the desk........................... BOY DID I :o I let rip big time, not only did I get an apology but I also got a bottle of nice wine as way of an apology to.................. So always take note of the young boyracers and what they have on...complain....and see what you get for your trouble. ;)

That shouldn't be difficult for you to achieve Si....... but if you're going to your local Tesco you may want to learn a foreign language first....place is rather popular with polish or is that polish......miner not minor :04:
