I got banned!

Hi there folks,

After the "Simon the psychic" thread was closed, I tried to post a message to the forums to say that i'd really enjoyed meeting you all, but that I wouldn't be posting again. I continued to say that I hoped to chat to you all some other time / place (possibly MSN). Unfortunately Pammy decided to delete the thread before anyone could read it. She also banned me because I argued that it was unfair "not to be able to say goodbye" to everyone. And she has since been deleting all attempts to mention the thread again (along with my new attempts to rejoin the COL forums). :cry:

Anyway, I decided to set up this forum after remembering someone say I should (a few of you did!) - and with some prompting from various people - so thank you to all who enjoyed the original thread! Your moderators of this forum will be Lyn and Michelle. If you have anything you really want to see in this forum - just let me know and we'll look at it. I want you all to treat this like your second home. I build this site FOR YOU - so make it your own! Tell your friends and family to come on and have a laugh. The moderators here will be fair - cos they are both a bit nuts. :D

I didn't have too much problem with them banning me - but being told I wasn't allowed to post a 'retirement thread' because it causes too many problems - well thats just silly. I made friends on that forum! (most of which are now here too, thankfully!) You don't need to have known someone for a lifetime for them to be a friend.

got to say the forum looks great simon , im amazed that your posts were deleted and you were banned , it was the best thread that ive read for ages , you certainly had us hooked and wanting more , you were doing no harm and cheered a lot of us up , not to worry you were probably just to popular for some , noses outa joint etc , keep up the good work , mods too nice to see you all on here xxxxxx love ruth :D :D

Velox: this is the story in a nutshell. I shall change the name of said forum to protect the innocent.

Basically, I signed up on the forum to post a pic of my mums dog. The ladies on the forum were ace (the same ladies who are now here!) so I stuck around. Eventually I posted a thread to do astro readings for people. In short of three days, it was 21 pages long and we'd had a right laugh. Was just really good fun.

Then, someone else posted to the thread. Lets say her name was.... err.... Cuthy. Cuthy had a differing opinion of what I was posting (no problem there you think). But every time she posted, it was like.... having a genuine viewpoint with a bit of spite thrown in. Eventually, she stopped posting and a few people went "yay". Shortly afterwards one of the mods... lets say her name was Sammy..... one of the mods closed the thread.

So I was fairly annoyed about that and thought it wholely unfair (despite having been warned by at least two people about Sammy beforehand). Anyway, I posted a thread to say "thanks for being kind, hopefully i'll speak to some of you on MSN". This was also deleted by Sammy. So I posted a private message to Sammy asking why it had been deleted. The conversation went like this....

Simon: "Why did you delete my goodbye thread?"

Sammy: "It was deleted because we don't allow retirement threads. They just stir up trouble"

Simon: "So how am I meant to say goodbye to everyone?"

Sammy: "You can PM them individually if you like"

Simon: "Glad to see you're staying impartial in the matter"

Sammy: "And that comment just got you banned"

And that was it. Any attempt to re-register was deleted and any reference to 'where the psychic thread went' were all deleted immediately. Nothing quite like freedom of speech is there. So yeah, thats exactly how it happened. A total abuse of moderator privelages.
