Livvy isnt up to sorts, vet gave erythromycin initially. We are wondering if it might all be an age related thing, but he wants to rule out infection first. If this doesn't work, its blood and poo sample time. Poor soul even turned her nose up at scrambled eggs and rice, her favourite comfort food. I hope its a bug that we can clear up, and not something that will have to be managed cos of her age. She's 12 in just over a week. Everything seems to be going wrong with her. Poor wee soul.

Poor wee toot. They gave the girls Erythromycin for the Campylobacter and the tablets themselves caused Lyla to have the runs and be sick! I hope they find out what it is soon and that it is something easy to treat so she can start feeling better. XXX

Erythromycin made me feel worse when I took it. I was as sick as a dog . so poor livvy. I hope shes right soon. peppers 14 nearly 15 and she has spewy days pooey days allsorts. she still gobbles her grub tho and is happy in herself so I havent had any investigations done mainly as if they did show up something hellish what could they do for her at her age? not a lot excetpt charge me a small fortune for the pleasure . also pepper hates the vets. too stressful for her. theyd have to sedate her to do anything and that would likely bump her off. so Im taking it a day at a time. good luck and I hope its nothing serious xxx

Yes, she has the runs, and sickness. She seems a bit brighter in herself this morning, at least she has her apetite back, she seems hungry all the time though. See what vet says when we go back.

Poor pepper, I know sometimes you just wonder if its better just to deal with things on a day to day basis, but her tummy has been up and down the last few months, and if its something treatable, like just an underlying infection that's just hanging round, at least I can doo something. I'm so tired all the time, she's been getting me up in the night several times on and off for the last month, and if I dont, then I have loads of mess to clear up when I do. The vets just kept saying the usual stuff, withold food for a cupla days, and blah blah. Its obviously something more, so I changed vets last week too.

It just infuriates me that they tell you to just keep stopping food instead of finding out what is wrong! It costs about £40 to get a poo sample analysed which will tell you if there is anything in her gut causing the runs. I know erythromycin kills campylobacter but not if it would kill parasites, which they also test for. What a shame for the poor wee scrap. She cannot be feeling comfortable.....poor you too. XX

It absolutely drains you of energy doesn't it when our fur babies are poorly. Big hugs to you both. xxx
